Moçâmedes - The governor of the province of Namibe, Archer Mangueira, demanded today, Monday, in Moçâmedes, from the new members of the local government greater rigor, competence and spirit patriotic in fulfilling the mission of serving the population.
Archer Mangueira made this statement when he was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new administrators of the municipalities of Bibala, Tômbua and the commune of Bentiaba, having called on the new members to work with team spirit and zeal, to resolve the concerns of citizens and help develop the province of Namibe.
At the ceremony, the administrator of the municipality of Bibala, Amélia Camunheira, the deputy municipal administrator for the Technical area, Infrastructure and Community Services of Tômbua, Benvida Mateus, the communal administrator of Bentiaba, Izequias José, the deputy communal administrator of Moçâmedes, were sworn in. Hélder Alburqueque, among other people responsible.
Amélia Camunheira, on the occasion, highlighted the development of the economic sector as a priority for her mandate, mainly in the areas of agriculture, livestock and ornamental rocks.
The official understands that investing in these sectors will help boost the economy of the municipality, in particular, and the province, in general, as these activities generate new jobs and the sale of these products could result in revenue for the region.
“The municipality has economic potential and we are going to boost this sector, attracting businesspeople to invest in the region. We will also boost tourism in our municipality, which is home to beautiful natural landscapes, the Montipa thermal waters and other leisure facilities”, highlighted the administrator.
The administrator of the Bentiaba commune, Izequias José, chose social services as his priority, such as improving the supply of electricity, water supply and roads.
He made it known that he will also invest in agriculture and fishing, given that the municipality of Bentiaba is rich in fertile soil and has a sea with plenty of resources.
