Ministry of Tourism trains 300 operators in Namibe
Colinas do Curoca- TômbwaA total of 300 operators from the Tourism sector, including guides, interpreters, and reception technicians, have been benefiting since this Tuesday, in Moçâmedes, from technical training aimed at improving the quality of services, efficient management, and the professionalization of the sector.
At the opening of the seminar, which will last for 3 days, the national director for training and entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Tourism, Afonso Henrique Vita, stated that the intention is to qualify human capital, increase competitiveness, and promote the sustainability of Angolan tourism.
He urged the trainees to absorb the content being taught, with the objective of placing Angola on the international tourism map.
Meanwhile, the municipal administrator of Moçâmedes, Abelardo Lemba, highlighted the importance of the training, adding that it comes at a good time as the provincial capital will host the Angola Cities and Municipalities Fair in August this year.
He added that the training will provide Tourism sector professionals with the necessary knowledge to meet visitors' expectations.
"We will receive visitors from all municipalities of Angola, and this will demand a lot from you, therefore I recommend that you fully absorb the knowledge that will be provided here," he appealed.
The president of the Namibe Association of Tourism Guides and Interpreters, Marta Manuel, also thanked the ministry for the initiative, considering the market needs.
She said that guides must be properly trained to meet market demands, taking competition into account.
The training programme, which brings together professionals from all municipalities of Namibe, will include both practical and theoretical components. VR/FA/CS
