Seven thousand and 214 tourists chose the province of Namibe as a tourist destination, in
last six months of this year, with five thousand national citizens and two thousand and 214 foreigners,
announced, this Tuesday, in this location, the director of the provincial Tourism and Environment office,
Pedro Hangula.
In statements to ANGOP, regarding the performance of tourist activity in that province, the source made it known that the registration of these tourists represents an increase of 1,300 visitors, compared to the same period of the previous year.
He mentioned that among the foreign tourists, the English, Spanish, Portuguese, Namibians, South Africans, Brazilians, Chinese, Vietnamese and Lebanese.
Pedro Hangula highlighted that the most visited points were Lagoa do Arco, in the municipality of Tômbwa, the cave paintings of Tchitundo-Hulo (Virei), the thermal waters of Montipa (Bibala) and soba and Vanessa beach, in Moçâmedes.
The director said that, in the period in question, 23 tourist guides were trained, increasing the offer of services in the order of 30%.
He made it known that the province has three hotels in operation, 23 guesthouses, 16 guesthouses, 8 tourist villages, 7 residential guesthouses, 188 restaurants and similar, as well as 6 travel and tourism agencies.
he also recalled that the local government is committed to promoting tourist activity, as it is a sustainable way of diversify the local economy, remembering that the sector employs a total of three thousand and 586 citizens. VR/FA/QCB
