Moçâmedes - The province of Namibe will present an education project called "Okulinonga" at the 2025 Angola Municipalities and Cities Fair (FMCA), taking place from August 7th to 10th of this year.
The project aims to reduce the number of children and adults outside the education system, combat illiteracy, and promote tourism with all its potential.
The information was provided to ANGOP this Tuesday by Ema da Silva, the vice-governor for Technical Affairs and Infrastructure, who stated that Namibe will participate in the event with nine municipalities.
Education, tourism, agriculture, biodiversity, wildlife, and livestock are the fundamental elements for winning awards in the competition categories.
Ema da Silva emphasized that they have prepared the entire design of the stands, as well as the work in terms of advertising for municipalities and the province, hence the need to stand out and showcase Namibe's potential.
Regarding the awards, the official emphasized that the goal for this edition is to improve. Although some municipalities won some awards in the previous edition, this year they intend to repeat the same and bring others to the four new municipalities, such as Sacomar, Lucira, Iona, and Cacimbas.
The municipality of Moçâmedes won in the 2024 edition in Category A with the Saber Andar subdivision project, Tômbwa won in Category B with the project to organize the resizing of public and collective transportation, and Bibala won in Category C with the project to reorganize and expand the electricity transmission network.
The FMCA is a strategic platform with the objective of encouraging local development throughout the country. This is the 5th edition under the motto "Life is made in the municipalities." It will take place at the National Stadium in Ombaka, Benguela province, with exhibitors from all 21 provinces of Angola. FA/SEC
