The cruise ship Crystal Symphony docked on Thursday, 18/12, at the Port of Namibe, arriving from Luanda, on a journey that began in Barcelona, Spain, with 378 tourists of various nationalities on board.

In statements to the press, the Director General of Travel Gest, José Cabral, the company promoting the trip, said that the ship has already passed through several countries, including São Tomé and Príncipe, explaining that after Namibe it will dock in Namibia, en route to Cape Town, South Africa.
He stated that the expedition includes tourists of various nationalities, with a predominance of Americans, British, Japanese, Brazilians, Australians, and Chinese.

The ship remained off the coast of Namibe until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, explaining that tourists will visit several tourist attractions such as Lagoa dos Arcos in Tômbwa, Serra da Leba in Bibala, the waterfront and the Fortress of São Fernando, in Moçâmedes. The tourism sector operator expressed satisfaction with the evolution of the tourism sector, acknowledging the efforts made by the government and tourism operators to promote Angola’s image abroad.
He revealed that tourists appreciate the hospitality of the population, the culture, the gastronomic experience, as well as the natural beauty and historical heritage of the region.

He added that the next arrivals to the province’s coast are expected in April 2026.
At the site, American tourist Madalen Robert said it was her first time in the country, but that she had received a lot of information about Namibe through social media and the press, and that her main interest was visiting the Namibe Desert.
Meanwhile, Brazilian tourist Diogo Kyrllos, from the city of Pernambuco, said he was happy to be in a city founded by people from Pernambuco.
He stated that this was the second time he had visited the city, adding that most of the tourists on board were visiting for the first time.
In turn, the Head of the Tourism Department of the Provincial Office of Culture and Tourism, Vladimir de Carvalho, stated that the cruise will allow greater promotion of local tourism in the international market and provide greater visibility to the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
