The coastline of Namibe Province, particularly the fishing town of Tômbua, stands out as one of Angola’s most authentic and still relatively unexplored destinations.
Surfing in Namibe is characterised by clean, long waves that are often perfect for different levels of experience. From curious beginners to advanced surfers seeking new challenges, there is room for everyone.
The combination of sandy seabeds and some rocky areas creates a variety of peaks that make every session unique. And best of all, you will often have the ocean practically all to yourself.
Namibe offers favourable surfing conditions throughout much of the year, particularly during periods when the wind and swell align to create more consistent waves, especially at the following beaches: Praia das Conchas and Praia das Miragens
The climate is generally dry and sunny, making it ideal not only for surfing but also for exploring the region, going for walks or simply relaxing by the sea.

“At first, we thought this video had been filmed on the famous wave at Skeleton Coast, in Namibia, and jokingly edited to make it look like somewhere else.
After all, how many unknown, kilometre-long left-hand waves can there be out there?
But as we started looking more closely, we realised that it really wasn't the same wave. This one seemed easier and, at the same time, equally cylindrical.
The story goes that these two surfers explored the coast of Angola and discovered this ‘gem’, apparently filmed for the very first time! Enjoy!”
